The International Demolition Derby is promoted as an unusual spectator attraction. In the interest of
safety, anyone entering is subject to, and must obey the following rules and regulations which are
set up by the promoter and track where this event is being held:

A. Each driver must fill out an entry blank.
B. The track or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries.
C. Only owners, drivers, mechanics are allowed in the pit area.
NO ONE EXCEPT DRIVERS ALLOWED ON THE TRACK.
D. Participants of the International Demolition Derby are not employees of the track or the promoter
of the International Demolition Derby.
E. No Cars are permitted on the track before the heat in which they are to participate.

Drivers Entry
1. Each driver must be 21 years of age or must hold a senior driver's license or have a notarized release
signed by their parent or guardian.
2. One entry per class/driver at each show.
3. Any driver not obeying the rules will be disqualified.
4. We reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.

Participation Regulations
1. Any stock American made, hard-top automobile or station wagon is allowed. No trucks or jeeps.
No Chrysler Imperials, Hearses, Taxies, Suburbans, Etc.
2. Safety belts and helmets are required.
3. All glass, including head and tail lights, must be removed. (The windshield included.) The auto must be swept
out clean.
4. A maximum of three gallons of gas will be allowed. Gas tanks may be moved to the trunk or back seat, but will
not be permitted in the front seat area. If tank is moved a secure band (metal or nylon) is required to restrain it.
A fire shield must be provided on ALL TANKS. When an auxiliary tank is used, the regular gas tank should
either be removed or large holes punched in the bottom of it. It may not be filled with any substance.
5. No special bumpers or any reinforcements will be allowed. No trailer hitches permitted. Driver's door may be
braced from side to side. No pipe larger than 3" may be used and it must be
against (no further back) the back
of the drivers seat in normal position and no further forward than beginning of dash. (
no kickers). Bars may be
fastened to both rails by welding or bolts. Any metal may cover the driver's door as long as it is smooth, has all
edges securely welded, and does not extend more than two inches past the door at any point. Any pipe
reinforcement of driver's door must be on the inside of the door and may not extend more than two inches past
the door at any point. Shield may be placed over driver window and on windshield in front of driver but it must
not be extensive enough to brace car and must be securely fastened.

Both front doors must be left blank for a number or you may paint your issued number on BOTH
front doors. You may get numbers from the I.D.D. Office. Numbers must be legible.
Numbers or Name given on first come - served basis.
7. Roll over bars are allowed but not necessary. No side to side braces except as in rule 5. No kickers at dash
or seat.
8. Driver's may maneuver forward or backward. There will be no deliberate head-on collisions and no
deliberately hitting on driver's door.
9. All doors must be fastened shut by wire, straps, or welded.
10. A time limit of 60 seconds will be enforced. If a driver does not hit or be hit by another car within the time
limit, he will be disqualified. Do not play "possum". This will lead to disqualification.
When down to two cars,
the last car with aggressive hits will be the winner.
11. No spring jacks or blocked shocks. Suspensions must be free of blocks. Bumper shocks may be blocked.
12. Cutting of fenders for wheel clearance only is permissible.
13. Hood and deck lids must be operable. They may be wired or chained but you must be able to open them.
The only exceptions are previously run vehicles. The area must still be visible. Hoods or deck lids
may not be welded. This includes station wagons.
6 bolts (not through frame and not over 3/4"). Two
holes with wire or chain (not over 3/4") equals one bolt. No supporting wires, cables, etc... Except on hood and
trunk.
Pre Run or Dented trunks that will not open should cut a 15 inch square hole in center of
trunk for viewing.
14. Boundaries must be observed.
15. Vehicles must have brakes before beginning of heat.
16. The use of intoxicating beverages prior to or during the derby by driver, pit crew or sponsor, disqualifies the
car and crew of the offending party. No intoxicating beverages allowed in the pits.
17. All cars will be inspected before the race by judge and/or other drivers. Winning cars may be inspected
after the derby. Cars must be on the grounds at least 1 hour before the first heat with their hoods and deck lids
open. All protest for visible rule infractions must be made at this time. Any car not on grounds for inspection
may be disqualified and the driver's entry fee is forfeited. Only protest of rule infractions that are not easily
visible will be accepted later.
18.
A drivers meeting will be held 30 minutes before the first heat is scheduled. Any driver not
present may be disqualified and their entry fee forfeited.
19. Any car spilling gas or catching on fire is automatically disqualified.
20. No junk tires, wheels, metal parts, etc., allowed. Cars must be clean.
21. All decorative chrome stripping must be removed from the outside of the vehicle.
22. Batteries may be moved to any reasonable position in the car but must be securely fastened to the car and
must be covered with a suitable shield.
23. All cars must be removed from the grounds within 12 hours following the show or they will become the
property of the International Demolition Derby and the officials will remove them- -unless otherwise specified at
the drivers meeting.
24. Five (5) sponsors of cars will be given recognition over P.A. System during the show. Sponsors must be on
entry form and must be legible.
25. Radiators must be in the original position. No radiators inside the car and no additional circulating radiator
may be used. (This includes any other coolers.)
26. No welding may be done on cars between heats. Any other repairs may be made as long as no bracing or
re-enforcement are made.
27.
No one except driver allowed on track at any time. No repairs may be made by anyone except driver
during caution flag or any other time during a heat. Anyone receiving assistance or having their pit crew on the
track during a heat will be disqualified (except for any emergency situation).
28. Heat and heat positions will be drawn
September 4th and September 11th. Random drawing will
determine which heat and what position in that heat every driver will have. No trading of positions allowed.
29. The Regular Derby will be composed of individual heats and one Feature. Feature demolition event will be
comprised of top 3 cars of each heat. Decision of the official judge will be final as to the winner of each heat. No
dropping below top 3 cars for feature. The winner of the 80's class may be included plus winner of the mid-size
class.
30. A demolition derby for cars made in 1978 & up will be held
September 6th & 13th. Older bumpers may be
used if attached according to rules. All regular rules apply. American cars only.
31. A mini car demo derby will be held during the
September 6th. All cars must have a standard 4 cylinder
engine and a wheel base
less than 98 inches. Cars may be foreign or American. Trophies will be awarded for
first and second place winners. Limit of 15 cars
32. A class for mid size cars (less than 108" wheel base) will be held
September 13th. The cars may be
American or Foreign and may be front or rear wheel drive. The engines may be 4 or 6 cylinders only.
Winner is qualified for feature if desired.
33. Four passes to be given to each driver for each performance entered. These may be distributed as driver
deems appropriate.
No one admitted free through the gate. Entries must be in by August 28th, to enable
tickets to be mailed to you. If later entry is accepted it will be your responsibility to pick tickets up.
34. No extra leafs to be added to springs. No over-sized springs permitted. No Spring Conversions.
35. No one permitted to argue with officials or others, fight, etc. Anyone not following rules may be barred from
future events.
36. Must have radiator over flow hose and must be securely attached in downward position.
37. Must have hole cut in hood (approx. equivalent 15" square) to enable access to fire without raising hood.
38. No profanity or socially unacceptable language permitted on cars. We reserve the right to paint over any
infractions or disqualify competitor.
39. No welding on frame except 18" from each end. The only exception is legitimate frame repairs. Any frame
repairs to be made with metal no thicker than frame and not to extend over 1" past damage. Needed repairs
must be verified. No seam welding, welding of frame to body, or welding of stress points except in the above 18".
40.
Regular derby bumpers must not be over 28-1/2 inches (in center) to the ground. Pre run cars
must meet requirement or have frame bent up to not give advantage from height. 60-90 degrees bend in frame
only on pre run vehicles. Anything less must not give advantage. Judges decision will be final.
41.
All tires do not have to be DOT Approved. Tire size must not alter the bumper height required.
42. No Tilting.
43. No protectors except for distributor protector. May be homemade or factory. No excessive
construction.
